Evidence-based practice can be used to support children especially when they are being transferred from our facility to a referral facility. According to the behaviorist theory, children learn from the environment hence a change in the environment will prompt for a new learning process for them. Evidence-based practice will have research and studies done on the development of children and young adults hence they can be evaluate through observation of any significant changes after the use of the research. The use of evidence-based support should encourage positive behavior because we will be more cautious in using new strategies and learn how to deal with similar cases which have already been documented.

I will use evidence-based practice to encourage positive behavior by planning various methods of intervention before the occurrence of an inappropriate behavior. For instance setting boundaries for children so that they know how to talk to other children is a key way

to reduce bullying and the use of disrespectful language. Similarly negotiating with children through individual behavior planning will help establish their individual personalities and improve their development. I will also use containment so as to capture a problem early before it deescalates to a misconduct or inappropriate behavior.
