Since September 11, 2001, what have local, state and federal agencies done to increase terrorism prevention and response efforts? These agencies have come up with policies which are meant to control terrorism and in a bid to attain efficiency, a greater part of the responsibility has been delegated to the local level through community policing. In this case, the relevant authorities are always prepared for and ready to respond to any terrorist attempts (Chapman & Scheider 2014). Another effective measure which the agencies have taken is by spearheading an organizational change in the respective agencies, looking for any foreign partnership that can assist in terror prevention measures as well as endorsing problem-solving measures.
How is the community policing philosophy a valuable asset to the fight against terrorism? Community policing is a highly effective measur
...e because it has a direct implication in curbing terrorism attempts. It is a valuable asset since it brings a change to the traditional organization of the federal agencies and ensures that officers in the low rank are given the decision making powers and the mandate to respond immediately to any form of threat. It is an advantageous policy since officers are located at particular geographic areas where they are able to learn about the way of life of the local residents, cultivate trust with them which helps them gather any relevant information concerning potential threats and with this information and exposure they have the capability of immediately responding to any form of crisis which may arise (Chapman & Scheider 2014). Additionally, community policing helps with coming up with partnerships with the local communities an approach which gives the locals the chance t
play a role in ensuring that potential crises are combated.
Why is the community policing problem-solving model well suited to the prevention of terrorism? The model has the capability of using massive databases in order to come up with effective plans that are meant to respond to crisis and manage any potential risk. The model also has the ability to find out sites that are highly targeted by terrorists, the degree of vulnerability is examined while the responses obtained can be effectively implemented and evaluated periodically (Chapman & Scheider 2014).
