of his empire, the weaknesses of his leadership skills were mentioned. He was awarded the Marshal Baton for his leadership skills; but other opinions said that his successes belonged to his subordinates.

During Napoleon’s life, he made some mistakes, such as invading Spain (Gates, 2001) and Russia (Markham, 1988), and trying to keep other European powers divided in many parts. In the later part of his military career, he did not adapt to changing tactics, size of the army, etc. during his entire career as a solder to become a king of France, he must be considered as one of the greatest leader in military history. The reasons why Napoleon became a greatest leader were his long-term viewed and interpersonal skills; he never gave up on his troops and stayed true to his word. He was loyal and trust worthy as well, all good traits of a great leader.

Was Napoleon a dominant man? Yes, he was. He ordered a young cavalry officer, Joachim Murat, to seize large cannons and used them to repel the attackers on 5 October 1795.One thousand four hundred royalists died, and the rest fled (McLynn, 1998). He showed to other solders how dominant he was. Was he confident? If he was not a confident man, how could he lead the French army to invaded the Europe for many years, or become king of France, and Italy? He did everything, paid any cost to achieve his goal. Napoleon was the best man in motivating other people do something incredible, such as leaded his army cross the Alps in his Italy campaign (Cronin, 1994) , which was something impossible at that time.

There is

a story about a solder in Napoleon’s army; it was a cold night, and he was falling in sleep while guarding the gate of the camp. When he woke up, he saw Napoleon standing there, guarding the gate for him. Moreover, he gave the solder his coat to warm him up; from that moment, the whole army’s atmosphere changed, and all solder swore that they would follow Napoleon until they die. Was Napoleon an ggressive, competitive person? Yes he was. He never accepted to become loser, he never gave up.

Napoleon’s 100 days campaign is the biggest evidence.Although the United Kingdom took his crown away from him and sent him to St Elba, he still came back, and fight for his right, for his crown, for his country. In addition, he leaded France to become the most powerful country at that time. Was he a high achiever? He was a boy in Ajaccio, Corsica, and studied in the best military school in Paris, became the general at the age of 24 and the king of France at the age 35.

Napoleon was a bold and creative solder. He never stood behind the line, and never accepted losing a battle. Was he creative? He leaded his army to defeat Austria, which was one of the biggest armies in the world at that time. He thought of crossing the Alps to make a sudden strike to Austria’s army, which no one could think or image about that. In addition, Napoleon was a persistent, tenacious man.

As you can see, he never gave up in something he thought that was right. He decided to attack Russia, Egypt, and left

behind all the advices. It ended up with disaster. Napoleon always had a dream to control the whole of Europe, becoming the king of the world.Unluckily, United Kingdom always tried to destroy his dream.
