Moraga, CherrĂe, and Gloria Evangelina Anzaldua. This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color, Fourth Edition.ISM Press.,1988. People facing Multiculturality are experiencing concerns toward their Multicultural in a range of topics and identity. People do face issues on a multicultural background to engage their life to nepantla or double consciousness for their negative experiences. Multiculturality is argued to be the main threats for people in the subnational group and political identities. America destroys or alters people with multiple identities. By being concerned with one culture only. I have the concern about the American narrative to force in being “American” than multiple identities because people are controlled from the government and thinking of people as a group than an individual. Double consciousness has been used for oppressive society to the interna
...l conflict interaction for the subordinate group.
Double consciousness forced the race to create two forms of views of multiple cultures. The idea caused people to experience difficulty unifying their multi-cultural background in their overall American identity have troubled to develop a sense of self. Even, to not associate oneself not to be too much of one specific group. With nepantla, Individuals live within two identities in the act of in the middle of two worlds. In not associating oneself with their native country and families background. The topics sentence has influenced me on Anzaldua in the idea of Nepantla. Gloria Evangelina Anzaldúa, novel This Bridge Called My Back, “Intro to This Bridge Called My Back,” deals with her start of the novel in the manifestation of thoughts and horror have dealt in her life. Comparing her
situation as being a nepantla, as in her Chicano class speaks about queer theory, but need to speak about Chicano problems. I can associate myself as a Nepantla because when I go to Mexico, people in Mexico sees me as an American, but not Mexican. In my native birth, America, people see me as a Latino or Mexican but not as American. I cannot associate myself both of my identity because when I go to Mexico, I do not speak the accent of a Mexican. In my native birth, people do not see me as an American because of my phenotype. People face Nepantla or double-consciousness usually have trouble with their identity because of the color of the skin, action, and personality.
