Speaking Purpose: This speech aims to honor Mother Teresa's legacy.
Introduction:
Mother Teresa is a renowned nun who devoted her life to aiding the impoverished in India and earned recognition through her Nobel Prize. As someone with a passion for community service, I have opted to discuss her story. However, summarizing her multifaceted life into four minutes proved impossible; instead, this speech will delve into how she answered the call to serve, lived out this calling daily, and persisted despite personal struggles.
Body: Mother Teresa’s calling to serve came from a strong inner impulse towards a particular course of action, according to the definition of calling (2007, 104). Additionally, she was called more than once. Having been called to specifically serve the poorest of the poor, I will now provide examples of how Mother Teresa li

II. Mother Teresa fulfilled her calling by tending to the poorest of the poor.
In Appendix A of the book by Mother Teresa and Kolodiejchuk (2007), it is mentioned that she worked with "the sick, dying, beggars, and the little street children." This gives insight into how she carried out her calling, including founding the Missionaries of Charity. Moving forward, this text will discuss how she maintained her determination despite personal struggles. Therefore, III.
Despite feeling abandoned by God for over 50 years, Mother Teresa persevered in her service to the poorest of the poor, thanks to her unwavering faith. This is a testament to her calling and willpower which continue to inspire many today.
Despite the limited time to delve into it, the author's contemplation on their struggle with feeling deserted by God while working on the task,
as well as their acquaintance's personal account, has led to an introspection on the qualities necessary for commitment and endurance. The author trusts that their companion's experience will serve as a source of inspiration.
