Terrorism at this global age has become not only an ideologically motivated issue but more so a way to politically influence nations and government. It is by this that we call upon multiple governments to combine efforts in fighting terrorism in collaboration with other security agencies like the United Nations to ensure the safety of the citizenry and protection of state sovereignty. It is through this that national pride will be protected from damage by few radicalized individuals. Today we stand with all national governments in their process of protecting their jurisdiction borders and sovereignty. To you I pose this question, don’t you believe in economic prosperity and quality of life.

It is only with a solid and reliable economic base that the global society will prosper. We will not allow a child in far corner of Syria to die out of hunger due to your inhuman activities. Known to us is the fact that terrorism will cause more harm, not only regarding human loss but a long-run detrimental effect on the economy through discouraging foreign investments hence poverty. Why the love of languishing in poverty? Who kneels down and prays for trouble and poverty? Life, real quality life, depends on the economic aspect of any nation or society. Allow your eyes to open up and look at the young lives you are destroying.

Patriarchy and male chauvinism is a mediaeval aspect of culture. At this age, discrimination against women is unwarranted and ought to be condoned with utmost effort. Not long ago did you kidnap the Chibok girls in Nigeria. We call upon you to respect the human right and freedom to

quality education for all. Only a weak man fears an equally qualified woman.

Let women get quality education. Let women serve in the police departments. Let women get involved in political responsibilities. It is only through collaborated efforts that strengths will pooled together and weaknesses in all aspects of the society will be completely erased. Now is the time to accept the world has changed for the better and humanity has evolved throughout history to accommodate and adapt to these changes. We have come here not only to dispute terrorism, but also to remind you that it is the infrastructure that you are destroying which you will need tomorrow.

It is the same airlines that you are bombing that will airlift to wherever you will want to be. Oh, and the beautiful beaches. Blessed are your lands with natural resources like oil and cultural artefacts. But all you have done is to bring them down as ruins. Don’t you appreciate the tourism activities in your localities and the economic benefits that come with it? It is only a fool who will be given a loaf of bread and ask for a stone instead. Don’t you seek to know what the future holds in store for your kind? It is only prudent to take a step back and establish what your actions today secure your future tomorrow.

If this happens, then it will be a big boost for the whole generation today and that of the future. As one great man in the name of Neil Armstrong, this would be a small step for a man, but one giant leap for mankind. Let such music ring in your ears.

Has religion failed mankind, or has mankind failed religion? We believe in the latter as you are using religion to morally justify your wrong doings.

In so doing you have caused political instability, societal peace and order. To add salt to the wound you have cost various governments and stakeholders in rebuilding what you have destroyed. Many lives have been lost in your hands. Security policies have architecture around terrorism. How much do you think Mother Nature can give? How long do you think Mother Nature can hold on? In any case, so much of your activities have been tolerated.

Operations in Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, Nigeria, Kenya among other nations. But it is time to come to a compromise and put this issue to bed. It is not our liking that we become the antagonists in your lives. But rattle a snake, and it will bite back. It is of urgent importance to solve this once and for all.

With all due respect to your religion and ideologies, lets for the sake of humanity come to a standstill and make ethical and moral decisions of our actions. Let us pledge to work and co-exist peacefully. Let us pledge to ensure prosperity of our lands. Let is pledge to respect human rights. Let us pledge to love one another (King).  After doing so, all we have to hope for is continue moving forward and never look back. It is important that we forgive and never allow our pasts shape our future.

It is only through this that we will all enjoy surfing in the coasts of Somalia. It is only through this that the God will smile of His creations.

Speech Rationale

My intention to write this speech was to talk about tourism: demonstrating a personal relationship to the persuasive language used in speeches. In my speech, I wanted to use personal pronouns like you, we and us in addressing terrorists, and the larger global population respectively.“ We and us” were used to demonstrate that I am affected by terrorist activities. It is by the use of pathos that the above speech was so effective.

The rhetoric devices I used in this speech were anecdote, contradiction, syllogism, sarcasm, antagonist and chiasmus.
