The presentation "The only thing dark in Africa is your ignorance" by Magda Baghazal discusses the bias and ignorance surrounding Africa, highlighting the positive aspects of the continent. Baghazal challenges the negative publicity Africa has received, questioning its validity from the perspective of the western world. She emphasizes that the media has played a significant role in spreading negative information about Africa. Baghazal shares that Africa had already achieved civilization long before colonization. Moreover, she mentions numerous inventions and accomplishments by African people that have been overlooked by the media (Baghazal, 2016).
Miss Baghazal delivers a powerful presentation with a stable and audible voice that captures the audience’s attention. She adds variety to her intonation by raising and lowering her voice and prolonging certain words. Miss Baghazal also effectively utilizes facial ex
...pressions, such as raising her eyebrows and popping her eyes, as well as adjusting her lips and cheeks to convey a range of emotions and emphasize her points. In addition, she adjusts her postures and utilizes body movement by moving back and forth at the podium to maintain the audience's undivided attention. She also uses gestures, such as raising and waving her hand and shaking her head, on multiple occasions. These elements of speech contribute to her credibility and captivate the audience. Miss Baghazal's casual yet attractive attire positively resonates with her presentation. (Baghazal, 2016).
She presented a large amount of information in a short amount of time due to her expertise in the English language. Despite her outstanding abilities, she relied on her notes for reference (Baghazal, 2016).
