Glam-Overdose Fashion is my Passion Everyone wants to be understood; at the same time we all should be diverse. What is fashion? Is it the way you walk? The way you style your hair? Your attitude? One of the most common things I think of when I think of fashion is clothing. I think the media has somehow imbedded this in my mind! I thought that it would help me if I looked up what fashion is in the dictionary for this research paper.
It said that fashion is "The mode of dress, manners, living. ” That's a lot broader than what I thought! Fashion is not something that exist in dresses only. “Fashion is in the sky, in the streets, fashion has to with ideas, the way we live, and what is happening”. (Chanel, 2013) There are fashions in many types of human activ
...ity and ways of thinking. There are fashions in architecture (the way people build houses) and interior design (the way people decorate inside their houses).
There are fashions for clothing. There are fashions for dance and music, and for the way people speak. There are fashions for ideas. “Fashion is only the attempt to realize art in living forms and social intercourse”. (Bacon, 2013) Fashion can be whatever you want it to be there’s no instructions to it that’s why I have a special kind of love for it. Many Americans spend a lot of money and time on fashion I’m a witness to that.
However, fashion instills confidence in us when you look good you also feel good. I believe fashion is a part of the individual, fashion comes in all different shapes
sizes and colors. If you are a t-shirt and jeans type of person embrace it. You don’t have to look like you’re going to a fashion show every day that’s not what fashion is about. Fashion plays an increasingly important role in an indivi¬dual’s life because it is considered as a means of self-expression.
The garments and accessories that man or women wear, help them to identify with a group of others-whether it is a lifestyle, profession, a religion, or an attitude. Thus, the term ‘fashion’ has become synonymous with the overall growth of the country as well. On that note, “Fashion is always of the time in which you live. It is not something standing alone. But the grand problem, the most important problem, is to rejuvenate women. To make women look young. Then their outlook changes. They feel more joyous”. (Chanel, 2013)
