Saint Lucy Tableland

The Saint Lucy tableland can be described as a plateaux; it is a level or gently rolling land. The tableland rises to about 200 feet or 60 meters in height.

The Western Terraces

They are a series of step-like portions of rock, which rises to form a cliff that surrounds the Central Uplands. Each stage or terrace represents when the land rose up from the ocean. The flat part of the terrace originally being part of the sea bed. The area is broken up into many places by gullies of which some are seasonal streams.

The Central Uplands

The Central Uplands are a ring of cliffs that make up an uneven plateau. Mount Hilaby, the highest point in Barbados, at 115 feet or 340 meters is found in this region. The region is always green as it receives the heaviest rainfall on the island, approximately 75 inches or 1900 milliliters of rainfall per year.

Christ Church Ridge

This is a hill that flattens at the top. The Christ Church Ridge runs from the eastern part of the island to the southwest. The land height decreases from Rendezvous Hill westward and eventually into the Saint George's Valley. It is a low, broad ridge rising about 600 feet. The ridge itself rises in an almost step-like pattern from the south to the highest point.
