I think there are two ethical situations here. One with Aston Martin's decision and the other is, what does the store do with the returned merchandise. In the 90's, this became a popular habit with teens through college age, to buy, wear and then return the items.

Shoplifting had also become popular. I think both are just as wrong. The retailer suffers because of the ethics of others. Many times the retailer has the policy of returning everything, no questions asked. I was at a retail outlet the other day when this had clearly happened and they even washed the clothes.A laundry detergent odor was strong on the clothes but the company had a policy that with a receipt, clothes can always be returned.
