There are times that condemned criminals repent, express regret, and experience spiritual rehabilitation few moments before the execution. (7) And the well-argued reason against death penalty is the incident of killing innocent people because of flaws in investigation and justice system. There is no perfect justice system; therefore it would be unfair and inevitable that innocent people will be convicted of the crime. When death penalty is used, such mistakes cannot be corrected anymore.

As long as the justice system remains fallible, the danger of executing the innocent can never be eliminated. I strongly believes that death penalty essentially go against the constitutional ban against cruel and unusual punishment and the assurance of due process of law and of equal protection under the law. It is an intolerable denial of civil liberties and is inconsistent with the fundamental values of our democratic system. The death penalty is uncivilized in theory and unfair and inequitable in practice.
