In the film Clash of the Titans, the main character Perseus is forced to set sail with nothing but a coffin and his mother, Danae. He ends up washing ashore on the island of Seriphos. As he grows older, he discovers the foreign world of Joppa and receives a sign from the gods.
Perseus initially refuses to believe that he has entered a different world and is hesitant to take action. However, after receiving acceptance from the gods, he is aided by supernatural powers in the form of a helmet, sword, and shield. Zeus also assures him that his life will be saved someday.
Perseus learns about Andromeda's situation - she cannot marry unless her potential husband answers a riddle correctly. Any incorrect answers result in public punishment. Feeling compelled by the gods, Perseus embarks on a quest to save Andromeda.

...s Princess Andromeda's spirit on her nightly journey. Along the way, he encounters Calibos, a monstrous mortal who provides a new riddle. Perseus narrowly escapes Calibos' attack but loses his helmet, which grants him invisibility, in the swamps.
Despite facing various challenges and trials, Perseus remains determined to save the goddess-like princess with the assistance of the gods.During the next ceremony, princess Andromeda's mother invites anyone to answer a riddle, and Perseus appears.
Perseus confidently solves the riddle, giving Calibos' severed hand a gold ring as the answer. This ensures his victory in winning Andromeda's hand in marriage. During the wedding, Queen Cassiopeia compares Andromeda's beauty to Thetis, angering the Goddess. As a result, she grants her son's wish for Andromeda to be sacrificed to the Kraken within thirty
days, otherwise Joppa and its people will be destroyed. Perseus is guided by Bubo, the owl, to the Stygian witches - three blind women who share a single eye. After much effort, they inform him that he must use the head of another monster to defeat the Kraken. Zeus instructs Athena, his Goddess daughter, to assist Perseus by replacing his forgotten helmet with her owl Bubo. Perseus successfully transforms Medusa into a stone statue and beheads her with his sword. With this new power, he is now able to confront and eliminate the Kraken. Upon returning home, the hero has proven his worthiness.
