My grandmother's house had the same look as a Good Housekeeping magazine. It had a beautiful view with fresh roses and lively snapdragons on the side of the house. The vibrant green grass looked like shiny emeralds. In front, there was a single tree that thrived and held a red bird feeder hanging from one of its lower branches. The backyard provided plenty of room, showcasing a row of pear trees along the property line, an enchanting country garden, and an old metal swing set beneath a tall apple tree.

The Siamese cat in the family leisurely rested on top of the TV, seeking warmth and comfort. The first floor consisted of two bedrooms and a bathroom. My grandparents' bedroom boasted simple furnishings including two dark lacquer stained dressers, a small shaky wooden table, and an extra-long bed with an iron frame that emitted a peculiar pinging noise whenever one lay down on it. These items occupied most of the room, leaving only a narrow pathway. Underneath their bed, there was a storage space which I frequently utilized as a hiding spot during rainy days when outdoor play was off-limits and hide and seek became our activity of choice.
