Famous physicist Dr. Albert Einstein has stressed the significance of prioritizing personal value over mere pursuit of success.
Striving for success while upholding values is crucial in shaping character and personality. Values are beliefs and principles that guide actions and define who we are. Therefore, prioritizing becoming a person of value is essential for achieving success. Reflecting on my personal journey, I confidently attribute my achievements to following this motto. As I look back at my life, I acknowledge the importance of the values instilled in me by my parents, teachers, friends, and even through the mistakes I've made. These values have been significant building blocks towards my success.
This report centers around the analysis of ethical dilemmas I have faced in the corporate world and emphasizes the importance of ethics. It also seeks to
...examine my personal views on ethics and explore my core values. While many people desire fame, I also share this longing for recognition. However, what sets me apart is my desire to be remembered not only for wealth, business accomplishments, or victories but for my dedication to ethical behavior.
During my childhood, my parents taught me the significance of values. Over time, I have broadened my comprehension of values by learning from my friends and teachers. Nonetheless, it was the Indian Epic, Ramayana, that truly revolutionized my outlook on values. This magnificent tale narrates the journey of Prince Rama, who is destined to inherit the throne from his father upon retirement.
His stepmother desired for her son Bharata to become king, although Rama, his older brother, was the rightful heir. She remembered a promise made by the king to grant her two wishes, s
she demanded Rama's banishment and Bharata's coronation. The king, bound by his promise, ordered Rama to be exiled. Without hesitation, Rama accepted the decree and obediently stated, "I gladly obey father's command," to his stepmother.
"I would go even if you ordered it," he said before being exiled for fourteen years. This story taught me the significance of upholding one's values, even in extreme circumstances. It offers a glimpse into the strong moral and ethical principles of the past.
My objective as a businessperson is to attain obedience, loyalty, truth, and respect while working towards becoming a prosperous entrepreneur. I aim to create a business that generates profits based on ethical principles and values. I strongly believe that prioritizing ethics is crucial for the success of any company. By adhering to ethical standards, we can establish a favorable work environment and develop a positive reputation, ultimately resulting in enhanced productivity and profitability.
Although avoiding conflicts in the workplace is a difficult task, it is not impossible. Ethical dilemmas are bound to arise and individuals often have to confront them in their work environment. There are several methods available for resolving conflicts, but from my perspective, fostering open and effective communication plays a crucial role in preventing conflicts. Hence, I firmly believe that refraining from confrontation only worsens misunderstandings which can potentially escalate into bigger disputes. When faced with a conflict situation, my approach involves staying focused on the specific issue at hand and communicating calmly to restore harmony. It is imperative to respect others' boundaries and actively listen to all parties involved.
I strive to alter reactions in an effort to satisfy them, as they are not achieving the
desired outcome. It is frequently mentioned that the might of a pen exceeds that of a sword. Written correspondence can prevent numerous conflicts. However, I hold the belief that authentic language lies in interactive communication. When we communicate in person, we not only express words but also imbue them with emotions.
Adding tone and mood to a conversation enhances the speaker's understandability. When emotions are incorporated into our thoughts, they become clearer. Additionally, in-person communication allows for instant feedback from the listener.
Therefore, I prefer face-to-face communication over writing because it allows for quick adaptation and restructuring of thoughts to better align with the listener's comprehension. As stated by Paul Tillich, "A person who takes risks and experiences failure may be forgiven, but someone who avoids risks and never fails is a failure in their entirety."
"I strongly believe that success in life is unattainable without taking risks. Risk-taking is an essential part of my life that I wholeheartedly embrace. Nevertheless, it's crucial to acknowledge that my passion for taking risks will never overshadow my dedication to upholding ethical conduct. As American author Napolean Hill once said, 'Failure in life often results from a deficiency in loyalty.' Personally, I possess a deep sense of loyalty towards my family, friends, work, and above all else, towards my customers. Loyalty holds great importance for me."
To me, loyalty is the act of reciprocating trust. When individuals entrust you and you uphold that trust, you demonstrate loyalty. Loyalty fosters trust, and trust fosters loyalty. Consequently, loyalty is a crucial value I have acquired that has greatly benefited my life. The values instilled by your family shape your character.
Hence, your family plays
a significant role in shaping who you are, making me feel most loyal to my parents and family.
