A Physiology class of 26 students; 18 females ages 20-41 and 8 males ages 20-42 participated in the study using a dynamometer at eight o’clock in the morning. There can be many speculations on why this study yielded these results but the most likely reason is that you use the dominant hand more giving you more strength from the result of building muscle. It is also likely that the men had greater results because they have more muscles and use their strength in their arms more. It is known that women are stronger lower extremities probably to aid in child birth, but men carry more strength in their upper extremities. Conclusion It is concluded that the dominant hand under all circumstances of the study esulted in the highest grip strength.

The most prevalent reason for this is that the dominant hand is exerted more within both genders. More use of the dominant hand for writing, using different tools, etc. Age did not play a factor in the determination of the results in fact the eldest participant of the study group had the greatest grip strength. More actions are performed with the dominant hand and than the non dominant. However, most of the women participants had much lower strength than the men because of the size of the males’ brute force.
