This module discussed the importance of communication. One of the goals of GCU is to help you to effectively communicate throughout your life. Access and view the "Communication Tool" located in the Additional Resources Folder in Canyon Connect. All of these resources discuss how to communicate effectively with others. It is always important to communicate effectively. We need to know how to communicate effectively so we can get our point across and understand what others are trying to say to us. Being that we are part of an online classroom community there are
...no non-verbal cues to help us to see what is meant by what someone is saying. We can’t see that they are being sarcastic for example. It’s hard to tell tone in the typed word. So, we need to know how to communicate effectively so that we understand what others are trying to tell us and also so that others understand us.
Through effective communication we can show what we know or have learned from the readings. Although we are all reading the same material, we all may come away with a little different understanding of what we have read. We are all coming from different backgrounds so we all see things a little differently. This is where the discussion forums come in. Through effective communication we can help our fellow graduate students and be helped by them to get a better understanding of what we shoul
