The environment plays a crucial role in supporting human life through its interactions with natural living and non-living elements. Protecting the environment is directly linked to maintaining good health, which is vital for sustaining life. Despite improvements in air quality standards, it is important not to overlook the slow progress made by the county (Phalen et al, 2013). Pollution has resulted in a decline in the well-being of individuals suffering from respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, particularly among children and older adults.

The dense concentration of these gases leads to fog formation, which reduces visibility in various regions across the country. This increases the risk for drivers, especially in national parks and along roads, resulting in accidents. Additionally, sulfur dioxide combines with other elements to produce acidic rain that damages the ecosystem. Moreover, the presence of six criteria air pollutants (lead, ozone, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and particulate matter) contributes to the deterioration of air quality through smog and soot.

When inhaled, carbon monoxide decreases the oxygen supply to the body's organs and tissues, posing a particular danger to those with respiratory infections. High levels of CO inhalation can also impair manual dexterity, performance of complex tasks, visual perception, and learning ability (Flagan et al, 2012). The release of lead into the air from non-ferrous smelters, lead gasoline additives, and battery plants is a major contributor to health issues impacting the reproductive, nervous, and digestive systems.

Nitrogen dioxide is released by most factory combustion processes and reacts with other gases in the atmosphere to form ozone, a significant component of smog. Vehicles also emit CO, which contributes to air pollution. Power plants, cars, construction activities, fires, and windblown dust directly release particulate matter such as dirt, dust, smoke, soot, and liquid droplets into the air. This poses an environmental threat.

To reduce lead emissions in the air,it is crucial to promote the use of lead-free gasoline among motor vehicles,trucks,and power plants. Local governments should enforce stricter controls on wood burning and invest in freight technologies that produce zero emissions. Additionally,the community should be encouraged to choose walking,biking,and alternative transit options.

The cutting down of trees should be reduced to prevent wind from blowing particles into the air. Furthermore, it is important to promote the use of automobiles that do not produce exhaust.
