According to John J. Macionis, Sociology is a systematic study of human societies. In essence, it involves evaluation of human social relationships and institutions within the community. For instance, from religion to crime, race to social class and shared social stability and culture. On the other hand, a society is a group of people who live together within a territory with shared patterns of behavior and norms. Culture describes the societal way of life by looking at values, behavior and beliefs (Macionis, 2013).

The sociological perspective is a social strategy of evaluating social patterns in terms of behavior and emotions through defining what is good or bad for the society. In essence, it goes beyond the individual space and check on societal borders in shaping each and every individuals behavior according to the societal norms and values (Macionis, 2013).

Based on the analysis and evaluation done by Gladwell’s work, the social relation or socialization helps in building character and behavior of societal members. It also works effectively in spreading the same to future generations. Therefore, the society maintains the value and norms of the people and spread them to future generations (Gladwell, 2012).

As a Christian, I believe that being raised by a God-fearing parents has made me a God fearing and a prayerful woman. Their experiences and behavior have shaped who were are today. As a fact, their attitudes and emotions towards church matters have impacted my believer life today.
