The Purpose of Research
The Purpose of Research
Descriptive research in business management with a focus on finance is selected from various types of research. The goal is to showcase the management and financial aspects of businesses.
Approach to the Research
To achieve the best outcomes for this study, a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods was implemented. The quantitative approach involves using measurements, numbers, and calculations. Conversely, the qualitative approach includes visuals, words, and descriptive narratives.
Having this understanding, my decision
...was to incorporate both methods.
Research Strategy
Considering the knowledge of various research strategies available, I opted for the case study method. I chose this method because it thoroughly analyzes the intricacy of the situation to gain a better comprehension of the management aspects in business and finance. Furthermore, I selected the case study method because it can be carried out in different approaches, such as deduction, induction, and abduction. Among these approaches, abduction was the most suitable for my research topic.
Collection Methods
Before implementing my data collection methods, I conducted a thorough examination of commonly used techniques. Through this examination, I discovered multiple approaches to gather the necessary data, including interviews, documentation, observation, and archival records. Given that interviews are commonly utilized in case studies, I opted to use them to obtain the required information. Additionally, case studies provid
a wealth of valuable and comprehensive insights on the chosen topic. The data gathered through interviews proved to be of high quality and yielded the expected outcomes.
Sample Selection
When determining the sample for my study, I carefully considered various sampling methods.
There are multiple methods for data collection, such as random selection, cluster sampling, and systematic sample. For my thesis on business finance, I chose to concentrate on investigating a particular company in order to examine its financial status and business transactions.
Data Analysis
Analyzing a case study can be challenging since there is no universally acknowledged approach. Nevertheless, I utilized the data obtained from the interviews conducted during the analysis process.
The gathering of essential information was combined with empirical data to facilitate the identification of any potential similarities or discrepancies that may exist.
Challenges in Methodology
During the research and data collection process, particularly in conducting interviews, I encountered certain difficulties. The presence of the interviewer affected respondents based on factors such as age, gender, or ethnicity. Some respondents provided inaccurate responses to the questions posed, while others harbored fear in revealing information. This mistrust stemmed from their suspicion that the interviewer might be a government official aiming to investigate the company.
