of international operating media systems like MTV and CNN by specific companies has inaugurated the new age of international communication through distributing same program round the globe in half an hour. The CNN slogan states-“across nations and cultures” Hamelink, (2015).

Benefits of Global Communication

Wilkin (2001) argues that the increasing electronic communication through quick emails and instants messaging has resulted to the rising global communication which has in turn brought about a profound impact on the society at large. The society is now more global because electronic communication has eradicated distance as a communication barrier. The benefits of this transnational communication involve, making the world become a smaller place or rather a global village. For instance members of a family separated by distance can always stay connected to each other through this communication through constant chatting and even see each other while video conferencing. Networking websites even further allow communication from various distances without creating an expensive phone bill. In addition global communication makes stories from different parts of the globe accessible thus people can know what is happening in different parts of the globe even without being physically there.

Secondly global communication creates new opportunities for business people. However global business communication needs one to understand different cultures especially those of the business partners. For instance a mind tool in Eastern countries which is an online resource for studying business skills plays a key role in enhancing business transactions. It helps boost individual relations with business people from Eastern countries. Through electronic communication thus raising the chances of having successful transactions and enabling the business partners learn more cultures about each other so as to understand each

other better.

Thirdly, global communication has resulted in new and better tools used for educating children on different cultures. For example through pen pal programs children are able to learn different cultures through communicating with their pen pals from different locations around the globe. Teachers can also rely on this technology to allow cultural experts and political experts to train their students on the traditions and differences of different cultures.Wilkin(2001) argues the problems of globalization as follows.

As much as global communication is of benefit to us, it has some issues and problems too. As result of communication between people from different part parts of the world with different cultures and perceptive there are high chances of misunderstanding which may in some cases result to conflicts especially when a third party comes in and distorts the information. In business communication which is conducted across cultures, problems often come about when one of the participants becomes ethnocentric in that they believe that their culture is more superior to the other which in turn affects business between the two parties.

In addition when the world becomes a smaller place (Global village), individuals from different parts of the world may know too much about a particular nation or locality which may in turn affect it negatively. For instance some international Medias like CNN may focus on giving negative stories about countries in Africa or other developing and underdeveloped nations which may have negative impacts on its tourism and international participation.
