By depicting owe Jill struggles through a "pre-ex-lesbian" phase and interactions among other characters, this film, Heterosexual Jill (201 3), has focused on the topic of sexual identity crisis.

In the beginning, Sill's confusion about her sexual orientation opens the door to the issue and this is also the main storyline of the film. With sexuality ranging from exclusive attraction to the opposite sex to exclusive attraction to the same sex on the continuous spectrum, most people are naturally aware of their sexual orientations placed close to either extreme (or halfway).

Therefore, their deliberate appearances or intentional behaviors tend to be corresponded to their sexual orientations. But some people are not in such a case, and Jill is a very good example.

After she discovers the truth that the one, Jamie, she h

as crushed on is a butch lesbian instead of a real man, her doubts about her sexual orientation are formed. Unable to dissolve this mystery on her own, she seeks help from attending a conversion support group. In the meantime, she starts to become neurotic about the dilemma, and even stalks Jamie because of her attempt to prove that she is straight.

By having one last fling with Jamie, Jill believes that she is able to confirm her heterosexual orientation and then to end this ridiculous relationship.

Nonetheless, the unexpected should always be expected in life. When Jill denies the fact that she is indeed attracted by the butch "Jamie", the paradox seems to grow increasingly enormous. Her resistance to the underlying tendency turns out to be the assistance in accommodating the growth of her love for Jamie.

that Jill falls in love with the "butch" Jamie in the very beginning; that is, the one that she thought was a an fascinates her so much that she cannot help her affection for Jamie.

A misunderstanding not only arouses Sill's struggles but sees Sill's true self. What if Jill never meets a butch Jamie but encounters a macho "Jeremy? Would she remain straight or turn homo? Such a conflict might rarely arise from normal people's lives, but the chance is not zero. There has been news about people finding them homosexual after they get married or even have babies with their spouse.

Although the film belongs to the genre of comedy, it is never too easy to handle this situation if it actually happens in the real world. What such a type of person has to be confronted with is beyond common people's thoughts. However, just let nature takes its course.

While Jill is fighting with herself, David and Lola are arguing over the sexual orientation of Joss at the same time. Joss is a man who appears sexually ambiguous and seductive, which makes homosexual David and bisexual Lola (whose ex-boyfriend is Jamie) compete for his affections.

Compared with Sill's inner struggles, Joss deals with a less complicated issue - to be mistaken as being a gay. David and Lola try all means to figure out whether Joss is straight or not, so they take toes on Jossg's daily habits, regular diets, and even behavior patterns.

All the clues they hold cannot really help them to answer the tricky question until all the people gather in Davit's house. That night, Joss knows Jill is

his type at the first sight and acts aggressive to show his passion by kissing her.

However, ahead of the dinner, Jill misunderstood that Joss was a gay. She feels weird that Joss is kissing her and promises her that he is doing Brazilian waxing for her. For Joss, his struggles are completely different from Sill's. It is also unfair o steal away his genuine identity due to some unintentional trivia.

Joss is standing on a passive ground to be treated in the way he is not fond of, so he captures one chance and make a public announcement to speak out of his sexual orientation.

Right at the moment, David and Lola react in a very discriminatory way to his shout-out. This is an unfair response to people who suffer from identity crisis imposed on them by other people. Following the natural course, Joss insists firmly on his own position, unlike Jill who encounters confusion. Besides, when Joss pays court to Jill, she situates resell on top of a cliff, seeing Joss as a way out of her recovery from the mental disease.

She reluctantly poses to accept Jossg's love, but the consequence hurts both of them.

Once again, Jossg's self-identity is abused by Jill for her own selfish sake. In a way, Jossg's plays a tragic role of a victim in the film. A guy who is one hundred percent sure about his sexual identity is regarded as a complement to another gal's loneliness and resolution to her dilemma, but the gal cannot make certain if she loves a man or a woman.

How sarcastic the plot is! As love triangles keep shifting,

Jamie is also unfrosted by her own identity crisis that she fails to handle. All of it results from the troublemaker, Jill, who Jamie has nothing to do about.

Feeling guilty to fool Jill, Jamie agrees to Sill's preposterous plan of "dating" together again to help Jill out of the dilemma, but she loses herself in the process, instead. Her desire to be with Jill makes herself fallen deep in the game of love. After seeing Jill kissed by Joss, she desperately goes to the bar and tries to leave Jill behind.

When she is hooking up with Ruby, she realizes that the position in her heart has been occupied by Jill. To face the music seems to be the only way.

She first joins Sill's own therapy group and pretends to a stranger to Jill in order to find out what Jill really wants. Then, Jamie goes to her own therapy group of enhancing lesbianism to search for her own identity of being a lesbian and reclaim her lesbian orientation.

In pursuit of Sill's love, Jamie is hurt and gets puzzled with her real self, gradually losing her own identity. She feels relieved when surrounded by other lesbians. When Jamie turns up in the meeting of enhancing lesbianism, it is apparently known that she needs purport from other people like her to get back to the track of her life.

Unlike Jill, Jamie is very sure about her sexual orientation, but finds no way out of her suffocating life because of Sill's intervention.

Love absolutely fools all people regardless of sexuality. In the last scene of the film, Jill follows Jamie to the therapy

group and they have a quarrel in front of other attendants. Then, the leader tries to cease the fire and clam both of them down. She said, "l think what happened between you must be a classic heart-to-heart: honesty, respect, clarification, and acceptance.

(I am trying hard to recall what she said.
