People participate in skydiving for various reasons. Skydiving, with its origins in ancient Chinese aerial stunts, has a rich history. Both Leonardo da Vinci and the Chinese made significant contributions to the development of parachutes. However, it was in the 18th century when France not only invented but also daringly used parachutes by jumping out of planes. Little did anyone foresee that skydiving would become one of the most thrilling sports today. Jumping from an aircraft hovering two and a half miles above the ground is far from an ordinary activity. To intensify the experience, imagine doing so at a speed of one-hundred and sixty miles per hour while relying solely on a parachute for safety.

Although many people view jumping out of a plane as a nightmare, for some individuals it is the ultimate thrill. Despite facing criticism from others, I recall a quot

e that resonated with me prior to my own jump: "Skydivers know why the birds sing." The experience of skydiving does not resemble simply falling from an aircraft; rather, it feels more akin to flying. Moreover, once the parachute is deployed, a profound sense of tranquility envelops you.

Words cannot adequately convey the feeling that follows the deployment of the parachute. The sense of relaxation and inspiration is overwhelming. Participating in skydiving serves as a means of stress relief, further justifying why someone would willingly take the leap. While outside observers may label skydivers as insane, the moment you are soaring through the air, any stress or tension dissipates completely.

The dive creates an intense focus of attention, leaving behind all worries and frustrations. Whether tandem jumping or jumping alone (which requires training), the

indescribable inspiration remains. Soaring through the air alongside birds and clouds cannot be expressed in words, even by seasoned professionals. It feels as though you're not really living, amidst the happy, calm, fast, and exhilarating world unknown before. Upon landing after the jump, the world swiftly returns to normal.

While jumping, known as the freefall stage, your mind may become disoriented within the first 800 feet. Nevertheless, after deploying the parachute and abruptly stopping in mid-air, you have the opportunity to observe your surroundings. It becomes apparent that birds are joining you on this journey, almost as if they are accompanying you. Witnessing them beside you creates a desire to prolong the experience and understand what it is like being above the clouds.

As you sit there with your parachute, you realize the immense beauty of this place and never want to leave. The realization of just having jumped from a plane at an altitude of fourteen thousand feet hits you, causing others to think you're crazy. Many individuals opt for skydiving for different reasons – some do it to overcome fears, while others do it for personal motives. On the day of my dive, I had a conversation with my instructor who shared his motivation for skydiving: he sought closeness with his deceased father, who had passed away prior to his initial jump.

My actions were driven by the desire to feel a combination of emotions simultaneously. I experienced both nervousness and fear, but also excitement, which motivated me to jump from the aircraft. The motivations for skydiving differ among individuals based on their unique characteristics. If you were to converse with someone who had a pleasurable

skydiving encounter, they would likely describe it as sheer enjoyment.

Perhaps individuals are simply motivated to take action. On the day of my jump, I was not aware that we would be participating in skydiving. My cousins and I went through the necessary training and essentially relinquished our lives by signing some paperwork before taking the plunge.

Although many individuals fear skydiving and avoid trying it, I personally take pride in willingly leaping out of an airplane and experiencing speeds of 160 mph. While ascending 8,000 feet in just one minute may not appeal to everyone, I find it to be an exhilarating experience. Even experts admit that they engage in skydiving purely for the pleasure it offers. Skydiving has been around for such a long time that it is no longer a topic of dispute.

For those who have never considered it, skydiving is a viable option. Personally, if given the chance, I would do it each day. Writing about it can't fully capture the excitement one feels during their initial jump. Only fellow skydivers truly understand the inexplicable emotions divers undergo.
