School is not all bad, except for the teachers of course, but I have all my friends beside me and that is the best thing!! If it was not for school, I would not have known my best friend Janki and we would not experience the adventures nor the hilarity on the way home like we do. Throughout the school day, we are always waiting until it is time to go home because we know that is when all the gossip begins!! We tell each other of all we know and that is what makes us so good at knowing other people's affairs!! r to get down to the gossip!! We think of ourselves as detectives, fine combing all comments and actions of people to get down to the gossip!! The majority of the time, we succeed to do this and there is always a juicy piece of gossip waiting to be tackled by our tongues! We hate it when people we do not like, come and walk with us. It happened the other day. This girl, called Neena, whom we absolutely hate, came and walked with us.

Now even though Janki and I love our walks, and hate Neena, we were not as rude to say 'Bugger off!" So, unfortunately, she walked with us the rest of the way home. I remember that I kept on flaring my nostrils because that is a sign that I am angry!! Janki

just had a big grin on her face, as she tried to make conversation with Neena. I felt sorry for Janki, as she had to walk with Neena, the remainder of the way to her house. You see my house comes first, that is why Janki hates it when people she does not like come and walks with us because she knows that she has to walk with them by herself when I go to my house! Janki is always coming up with scheming plans; I try my best to keep her feet on the ground!! I am always saying "No Janki, you will just get into trouble!" or "Janki, it's not goin' to work, don't do it!" Then if worst comes to worst, and she still wants to go along with her plans, I just haughtily say, "Fine!! Just don't get me involved!!" That line usually works along with my sulking and flaring nostrils! Janki is always wanting to go to the toilet, I am sure she has a weak bladder!! I have diagnosed her with the 'Weak Bladder Disease,' or for short, WBD.

Sometimes when it gets unbearable for her, she starts speed walking!! I find it extremely hard to keep up with her, as she has long legs and takes enormous strides! We take many different routes now from school to my house. If we want to have a good juicy gossip, and we both have lots to tell each other, we take a long route - Throughout all the twisting and winding roads. If we do not have much to say (which is hardly ever) we take the shortest route we know.

I do my impressions of other people. We have a friend, who will remain 'anonymous'  When she walks, she bops up and down. It is hilarious when you see her, it seems as if she has some sort of flubber on the soles of her trainers, which make her bounce so much! If people see us walking, they probably think of us as insane!! Sometimes we are literally rolling around on the floor laughing, and at other times we are walking as slow as snails - This is especially on Jellicoe Road. On this road, we walk extremely low, as we tie up the loose ends to all our gossip!! If a snail were walking alongside us, I would assure you that it would get to the end of the road quicker than us! At one point on Jellicoe Road, we were laughing so much when the WBD struck me!! At the time Janki needed to go to the loo as well (nothing new there) so she was sitting, bent double, on one of the concrete stools on the street. Now as clumsy as I was, and so desperate as well to go to the loo, I abruptly pushed off the stool, and she nearly banged into a parked car!! She did not say anything though, as she was laughing so much AND needed to go to the toilet, so she just quickly toddled over to the next concrete stool to sit down, whilst I was sitting, legs crossed, on the stool, I had pushed her off!! It was extremely funny - I dread to think what people must have thought if they had seen

us! Janki and I never get a chance to speak at school.

We are in several lessons together, such as Life skills and Textiles, but we hardly ever get a chance to sit down and have a good old gossip! However, if by chance we do get time to talk, we are immediately interrupted!! Janki and I just look at each other and think "Great" Janki is original in every aspect. Her name for sure is unique, as I have never heard a girl named that before!! In addition, her personality is distinctive, as loud and rude as she is, she has a heart of gold. I do not think that I have ever met someone like Janki, who is a radical extrovert at one point and then an extreme introvert at the other! Janki and me, completely different as we are, have formed a special friendship. I think it is true when people say that, 'Opposites attract,' for that is certainly the case for Janki and me. I am a girl who is sensible, polite and quiet (I am not sure if everyone would agree with me there!), and not in touch with my culture, to my parent's dismay!! Janki, on the other hand, is not so sensible, nor polite and definitely NOT quiet!! She is in touch with her culture and background though, which is something I admire about her because so many teenagers have no traces of their ethnicity intact.

One thing, however, which we definitely have in common, is that we are very observant!! We pick up things, which we are not supposed to, such as certain looks people give, signifying their dislike

for someone, or even their telltale signs of romance! Of course, we tell each other of all we know, and I think that is what makes us so good at knowing other people's affairs!! If Janki knows something, which I do not and vice versa, we always tell each other of the news, and if there is something we know only a little of, we try to piece the puzzle together to get down to the gossip!! We think of ourselves as detectives, fine combing all comments and actions of people to get down to the gossip!! The majority of the time, we succeed to do this and there is always a juicy piece of gossip waiting to be tackled by our tongues! Janki, as well as being my best friend, is also my Agony Aunt. She is always listening to me whine and whine about my problems and then is always faced with my question, 'What shall I do?' Most of the time, she steers me in the right direction, but there have been some times, where she could have given me some better advice!! At one point, Janki and I had a lot to talk about, so we thought we would set about another way of reaching home, through a new set of winding roads. We successfully did so, and we reached Jellicoe Road, where our slowness set in. We were still enthralled with our gossip when we heard a noise coming from an upstairs window. We both looked up and immediately regretted that we did, for an unbelievable sight met our eyes. A Naked man stood there displaying his 'jewels.

' I am

sure Janki and me were pinned to the spot for a couple of seconds, not because we were enjoying the sight, (Hell No) but because we were so overcome with shock and disbelief that our mind was not working!! I think that after those seconds were over, we immediately uprooted ourselves and marched down the street, faster than we ever had before!! All we were saying was, 'OH MY GOD!!' I think we were too traumatized to see the funny side of it then, but the day after we were in hysterics!! Jellicoe Road will always be remembered for the 'Naked' man alongside our s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s!!Another memory was when there was a group of us walking from school. This was in year eight, if I remember correctly. Our friend, Prina, must have been in her own world, as she was not looking where she was going. The suddenly BHAM!! She had walked into a lamppost and banged her forehead. It was extremely funny!! All of us, except Prina, were literally rolling on the floor laughing Y r1bjbjWW -8'='=r-]nnnnnznZ2''''''''!!!!!!$?E'''''E'''''',B,'t- '@3/4^nnjAspects Of Teenage LifeSchool is not all bad, except for the teachers of course, but I have all my friends beside me and that is the best thing!! We think of ourselves as detectives, fine combing all comments and actions of people to get down to the gossip!! The majority of the time, we succeed to do this and there is always a juicy piece of gossip waiting to be tickled by our tongues!!We hate it when people wemember our walks, whatever happens! I do not think that I could even bring myself to forget the gratification nor the gossiping of our walks.

What our walks led up to were each of us finding a best friend, alongside many happy memories!!I do not know what I would do without our walks. It is just a part of our day now, and we would feel odd if we did not get to chat to each other like we do. Sometimes, when Janki or me is absent, the other has to walk home by themselves. However, the day after, we do twice as much gossiping!!Our walks have developed over the years. When we first started to walk home with each other in year eight, we used to talk about general things, such as television programmes or music. Gradually, though, as we gained the pleasure, to know each other better, the walks became a time where we were totally ourselves and it has carried on that way.

We do not hold back what we feel; on the

contrary, we express our opinions freely. We have many debates about certain issues, as a great deal of the time; her opinions are different to mine. We never argue, but instead listen to what each other have to say. I have realised that at times she does have a good point about something I disagree on, and vice versa. What started, as small talk has now become 'Big' talk!
