What is A Tightness Test
answer
Impractical and time consuming to test all joints, pipes and connections. .a localised test to prove the integrity of an installation .Performed from a single point on the installation, normally at primary meter. .Uses pressure decay as an indicator to the integrity of an installation. Pressurise a gas system and isolate the pressure source. provided there is no leakage of gas. the pressure will remain constant over a calculated period of time. If gas leak is present, the pressure within the system would start to decay. Pressure decay is recognised by a pressure drop on the gauge relative to the severity of the leak.
question
Test Equipment Used
answer
.Pressure Gauge-either water or electronic. .Testing Tee (where required if testing with air). Aspirator to pressurise the system where air is used as the test medium.
