It also helps in communicating between hardware components and applications running on it. Operating systems are responsible for making sure that multiple applications can run simultaneously while sharing resources efficiently without interfering with each other’s operations. They also make sure that each program has adequate access to necessary hardware components without compromising security or performance. In addition to managing hardware resources on computers, operating systems also provide additional features such as file systems for storing data and user interfaces for interacting with the computer. They may also include basic games as well as utilities like web browsers, media players and more depending on the version installed.
