What is Nervous System?

The nervous system is one of the most important and complex systems in the human body. It is responsible for sending and receiving signals from all parts of the body, and it allows us to process information, respond to stimuli, and coordinate our actions. The nervous system is made up of two components: the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The CNS is composed of the brain and spinal cord. It processes information from all parts of the body, interprets it, and sends out appropriate responses. The brain controls our thoughts, feelings, behavior, movement, memory formation and retrieval, learning abilities etc., while the spinal cord acts as a pathway that transmits signals between different parts of th ebody. The PNS comprises sensory neurons that receive information from receptors located in various organs throughout our body such as muscles or joints; motor neurons that send signals to effectors such as muscles; interneurons that transmit messages between other nerve cells; autonomic neurons which control involuntary bodily functions like heart rate or digestion; as well as glial cells which provide insulation for nerve cells. The nervous system is also divided into two main divisions: somatic (voluntary) neural pathways which control voluntary movements like walking or writing; and autonomic (involuntary) neural pathways which control automatic functions like breathing or digestion without conscious effort on our part. Overall, without a functioning nervous system we would be unable to respond to external stimuli effectively nor would we be able to carry out any type of movement or activity with precision accuracy.
