What is Human Interest Stories?
A human interest story is a type of news article that covers a person or group in an inspiring or uplifting way. It is typically written in the form of a profile and put together with facts and details to tell a compelling story. Human interest stories can be found in both print and online publications, as well as television and radio news broadcasts, and they often feature people who are overcoming difficult circumstances or making a positive impact on their local community. While these stories tend to focus on inspiring individuals, they can also include families, organizations, businesses, and other groups who have an interesting story to tell.Human interest stories have long been used by journalists to capture the attention of readers by highlighting the humanity behind current events. These types of stories are often featured alongside traditional news items such as political developments or crime reports. By championing the everyday triumphs of regular people, such tales provide hope amidst tragedy and offer readers the opportunity to relate more closely with their fellow citizens. As well as presenting uplifting tales that encourage optimism among readers, human interest stories can also draw attention to important issues affecting society at large. By sharing inspiring accounts from those affected by injustice or inequality for example, these articles can help bring about positive change in our world through increased awareness and empathy. Although most human interest stories will feature someone doing something extraordinary an unexpected act of kindness for example it is possible to create compelling tales simply through writing about ordinary people doing everyday things differently; finding creative solutions to problems; putting family first; displaying resilience in tough times; showing courage when faced with adversity; etcetera. Ultimately though it doesn’t matter what kind of person you write about so much as how you go about telling their unique story: whether it’s funny, heartwarming, sad or suspenseful – if you manage to draw your audience into your character’s journey then you have accomplished your goal.
