What is Hot And Dry?
Hot and dry climates are characterized by arid or semi-arid conditions with very little precipitation. These climates are found in regions located near the equator, such as North Africa and Southwestern United States, as well as in some inland areas away from the coast. Hot and dry climates experience hot temperatures year-round, but lack of rainfall makes them particularly inhospitable for growing crops. The lack of moisture in a hot and dry climate also affects its inhabitants. With no water sources available to them, humans must travel far distances or rely on wells or water storage tanks to obtain drinking water. In turn, this can lead to health risks due to dehydration, diseases spread through contaminated water sources and other issues related to a lack of hydration. Despite the challenging environment of a hot and dry climate, many species have adapted over time to survive in these areas. Cacti are one example of plants that thrive in these regions due to their ability to store water during periods of drought. Many animals also make use of burrows underground where they can remain cool while not having access above ground resources like food or shelter. Overall, hot and dry climates can be difficult places for humans but many species have evolved over time that allow them to survive there despite the extreme environmental conditions present there.
