What is Essential Amino Acid?
An essential amino acid is an amino acid that the body cannot synthesize on its own and must be obtained from dietary sources. These types of amino acids are important for growth, development, and good health. They also help build proteins in the body and can be broken down into energy when needed.Essential amino acids are divided into two categories: those that can be converted to other essential amino acids (the non-essential ones), and those that must be supplied by diet or supplementation (the essential ones). The nine essential amino acids include histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.
