What is Electronics?
Electronics is the branch of physics and technology that deals with electrical circuits involving active electrical components such as transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits, and associated passive interconnection technologies. It includes the study of design, construction and use of electronic devices for the transfer of signals between two or more points in space. The development of electronics began with the invention of the vacuum tube in 1904 by John Ambrose Fleming. Since then, it has become an increasingly integral part of our lives as technology advances throughout the years. The most significant uses for electronics are in computers, TV’s, radios, cell phones, video games and other forms of entertainment systems. Electronics also play a key role in modern medicine such as MRI machines used to diagnose medical conditions and robotic surgical procedures used to perform delicate surgeries without putting strain on human muscles or damaging delicate organs. Electronics also have a large range of applications in industry such as factory automation using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) or industrial robots used to automate manufacturing processes. The basic principles that underlie all electronics are based on electromagnetism which is the study of electric fields created by charged particles like electrons or protons which interact with magnetic fields created by moving electric charges within a circuit or device. In order for any electronic device to function properly these principles must be understood so that components can be designed correctly to ensure efficient operation over time.Overall electronic engineering helps us understand how electricity works and how we can apply this knowledge in order to create useful products that make our lives easier from medical scans to smartphones.
