What is Alkanes?

Second, some alkanes possess high boiling points which make them suitable for use in lubricants or solvents that require a closely controlled temperature change during operation or storage conditions. Thirdly, certain higher molecular weight alkanes have been found to have properties that make them useful in pharmaceuticals; these include their ability to reduce inflammation or act as anti-inflammatory agents when administered topically or orally respectively.
