What is 18th And 19th Century?
The 18th and 19th centuries were a period of tremendous change in the United States. During this time, the nation underwent immense economic, social, and political transformation. The nation’s population grew exponentially, with the majority of people migrating from Europe to America in search of a better life. This large influx of immigrants caused tensions between old and new American citizens as they competed for resources and jobs in an increasingly industrialized economy. Furthermore, during this time there was significant advancement in technology which further revolutionized the country’s economy and lifestyle. The United States underwent a dramatic shift from an agrarian to an industrial economy during this period as technological developments like steam engines allowed for increased production capabilities across multiple industries. This led to massive growth in urban areas across America as factories popped up to take advantage of these new opportunities. As a result, many farmers moved off their land into cities where they could find industrial work for higher wages than those offered by traditional farming methods. The 19th century also saw the rise of democracy in America with the ratification of the Constitution providing greater rights for citizens such as freedom of speech, press, religion and assembly among others which had previously been denied by colonial rule or state laws. Furthermore, The Industrial Revolution brought about huge changes to society with women gaining more rights such as property ownership while also beginning to enter into jobs formerly held by men only due to their lack of education or training at that time period; although not on equal footing compared to men it still marked major progress compared to years before when women had few legal rights or independence outside marriage or motherhood roles prescribed by society then. In conclusion, while it is impossible to sum up all that happened during this period succinctly; it is evident that between the 18th and 19th centuries there were huge changes occurring across America’s economic landscape, social structure and political system which shaped much of what we know today about how things work within our nation both domestically and abroad.
