With spring break nearing, many teenagers are visiting tanning salons to achieve a sun-kissed appearance. This is regardless of whether they will be vacationing in the tropics or staying home for MTV's Spring Break. Nicole Cooney, an employee at Tropical Rendezvous Tanning Salon for over a year, confirms that the salon is experiencing increased traffic during this busy season.

During the summer, there is a low period followed by the arrival of midwinter customers who had previously visited the tanning salon to maintain their tan. At Tropical Rendezvous, a system is in place to reject customers who tan excessively, as it is easy to become addicted to the warmth and relaxation of the tanning bed.
