ing concern to all those who uses the roads. There are many causes of accident on the road. Lack of experience and licensing older drivers are the causes of escalating accident rate. Nowadays, people can obtain license easily.

Actually, people who want to obtain the license must have an experience and know the rule on the road. However, we do not have a big number of experience drivers on the road. The inexperience drivers will give problems to other people and they can be the causes of accidents on the road. Beside that, the older drivers can be the causes of the escalating accident rate. For example, in the summer of 2003, 86-year-old George Russell Weller drove his car into a Santa Monica, California street market, killing 10 people and injuring numerous others.

car, later told police that he had accidentally pressed on the accelerator instead of the brakes. As is usually the case when such accidents occur, politicians and public health officials began again to raise the issue of the regulation of older drivers. Older drivers generally resist attempts to burden their abilities to obtain a license because they see their license as the key to their identity, freedom and independence. From this, we can see that inexperience and older drivers causes of escalating accident rate. On the other hand, improper infrastructure also one of the causes of escalating accident rate in Malaysia.

An improper infrastructure can refer to some condition like bad condition of the way, the traffic light not properly functional, to straight road and no signboard at the dangerous part of the road. For instance, if the traffic light not properly functional at t-junction, all the vehicle from different ways will try to past the traffic light as soon as possible for their own importance . So, because of that condition, the accident are more easier to occur at the area. We can see that all of this thing are almost causes of escalating accident rate in Malaysia and the same way it will give the negative effects to our self as a Malaysian.

The final cause is attributable to the poor maintenance and modification of vehicles. It can contribute both to the occurrence of an accident, or to the magnitude of the injuries suffered in an accident. Factors in maintenance and modification which can contribute to road accidents are such as poor maintenance of brakes and tires. Obviously, brake failure can be a significant factor in

causing an accident, as an unexpected brake failure may leave a driver unable to slow or stop in order to maintain control of a vehicle, or to avoid a collision.Tire blowouts from old, worn, or improperly patched tires too can result in an accident. Vehicles have caused road accident because their owners did not properly maintain and regularly inspect the vehicle during the operation.

So the road accident occurred when brake failure, tire blowout, power steering failure, headlight failure. Concisely, older vehicles may be subject to axle failure, suspension failure, or a steering mechanism failure leading to all the road disruption. In conclusion, road accidents end hundreds of thousands of lives across the world every year. However a lot of these road accidents can be preventable. There are some actions that we can do to avoid this unwanted incident to happen.

Enforcement measures and improvement in road conditions would also reduce accidents. Routine maintenance and inspection can help prevent a mechanical failure from causing or contributing to accident or injury. In fact integrated measures in the form of road improvement, driver education, road safety education to school children and public and effective enforcement will reduce accidents considerably.
