He targets opponents of the death penalty, arguing that it would restore social order and protect the sanctity of life. To bolster his argument, Koch addresses objections often raised by opponents and counteracts them to persuade his intended audience. One controversial issue he discusses is the sanctity of life. While acknowledging that the Bible prohibits killing under any circumstances, Koch attempts to justify capital punishment by claiming that it is not given the significance it deserves and ultimately diminishes the value of human life.
