Diversity is an instance of having different people of different races or different cultures in an organization. Different elements or qualities such as age, sex, as well as race in an organization, brings out diversity.

Rationality and equality

Getting a job in an organization is not an easy task due to high competition from different people with different qualities. This puts a manager in an awkward situation when it comes to job allocation or giving promotion to employees. Attaining fairness and using unbiased equitable criteria of allocating jobs might be very challenging due to increasing diversity in an organization. All kind of diverse employees in an organization need to be judged equally if a company wants to avoid cases that can ruin its reputation. For example it would be very easy for an employee to have a negative attitude towards organizations efforts to become more diverse simply because the procedural justice, organizational justice and distributive justice were not followed.

The organization should take advantage of a different employee of different ages, race, and gender in boosting decision making and raise the organization’s performance. If a company deals with diverse clients, Promoting diversity in an organization improves employees’ performance thus boosting different customer’s satisfaction. It is by promoting diversity that new talents, ideas, and values are realized and once taken advantage of they can positively impact the organization.

Resilience and Compliance

The practice of increasing employee well-being, the organization ought to be sensitive to different employee needs. Organizational performance is improved if people with different backgrounds and perspectives are involved in decision making. Equal opportunity should be presented to all races, disability, color, religion, gender, age. Organization should discourage Negative discrimination either in denial of service, employment to any class of individual. For example, the organization should be flexible to accommodate handicapped employees and customers (Scott & Byrd, 2012).
