According to Rogers and Wattis (2016), spirituality determines the belief that an individual holds.

A postmodernist approach asserts that religion is best understood by unveiling the realities about history. Pluralism is a spirituality response that supports the existence of all religions. According to Patel and Meyer (2010), pluralism appreciates human development as being dependent on respecting religious and nonreligious views, the establishment of relationships, and supports actions inspired by common good. Olson (2008) finds that scientism approach to a spirituality places emphasis on science as an important factor in determining human social and political matters. Spirituality is a complex subject and the purpose of this paper is to reveal how it affects the definition of human existence, the character of prime reality, and knowledge.

e position of spiritual supremacy.

It aims to answer the question regarding the existence of reality. Gaining a solution to such query emerges as a most important aspect in understanding human life. From a Christian standpoint, prime reality may be considered to be the existence of God. The existence of God underlies the central focus of the Christian religion.

On the contrary, scientism is grounded on the belief that reason is the ultimate source of wisdom. The religion finds root in the belief that science provides a wise approach towards understanding the world. Scientific speculation is considered essential and its benefits as an element useful in predicting human success is the single most relevant explanation of social and political factors.

and spirituality. It is ultimately affected by the definition of prime reality.

For a Christian, the world is a place dominated by a spiritual sphere with God being the most relevant influence. A Buddhist would feel that gods are real, but Buddha is more relevant to him/her. On the other hand, scientism finds cosmos more compelling. The world is defined by greater forces which involve divinity, evolution, and mere existences.

What is a Human Being?

Definition of the phrase human being inspires much controversy. Religious and non-religious existences influence responses.

Pluralism views human beings as intellectual individuals with the capacity to make mutually beneficial decisions. This approach expects that actions reflect an attraction towards the common good. Human being as the creation that resembles God. The idea is that human beings are created in God’s image. On the other hand, scientism appreciates human being as most intellectually diverse existence. Human beings are appreciated as supremely intelligent members of the world’s zoological diversity.

They are studied under same classification as primates.

What Happens to a Person at Death?

Curiosity about what happens to an individual after death cannot be resolved without stirring controversy. The answer is affected by religious beliefs and practices and it demands an understanding of spirituality and the existence of human beings. From a religious point of view, death is a gateway to new life. A person leaves the physical sphere to enter the spiritual world after death. Scientism leans towards the belief that death is a process that includes clinical and biological deaths.

Clinical death lasts about 5 minutes and is followed by biological death whereby an individual has the least chances of survival.

Why is

it Possible to Know Anything at All?

The question of why it is possible to know anything can be approached from diverse perspectives. A religious approach would insist on the existence of divinity as the source of true wisdom. The idea that, finding oneself allows the process of gathering knowledge to persist emerges.

Scientism would provide a contrasting response instead of aligning knowledge to divinity, it finds that human beings have the capacity to innovate and scientifically develop solutions. On the other hand, postmodernism looks to historical events and argues how they provide authentic knowledge. Finally, I find that pluralism believes in human abilities but refrain from making arguments antagonizing the previous approaches.

How do People Know What is Right or Wrong?

People know what is right or wrong by consulting culturally defined ethics or employing reason. Events are analyzed and critically reviewed to expose the inconsistencies of any exploitable approach; therefore, intellectually advising human decisions. Employing ethics considers the moral definition of right and wrong.

As such, people tell the difference between right and wrong by distinguishing between culturally approved and culturally detested matters.

What is the Meaning of Human History?

Human history refers to the journey that harbors aspects and events regarding the existence of human beings. Religious approaches consider divine intervention the sole factor. The origin of humans is accepted as presented in the text. The other perspective is that cosmic events triggered biological existences and subsequent events involved evolution processes until such point that the most advanced animal is a primate.

In conclusion, the subject of spirituality is intertwined with humanity, prime reality, and knowledge. There are several approaches to spirituality, some of which

include postmodernism, pluralism, and scientism. It affects worldview regarding how we understand human history, morality, knowledge, and death.
