As you approach the colossal 76,000-seater stadium at 10:00am on a splendid, sunny Saturday morning, there is hardly a soul about. There may be a family or two going to the modern megastore, possibly to procure the latest replica football t-shirt, or a new football for their offspring to engage in physical activity on the local field, one day dreaming that they will be able to play on the Old Trafford lush playing surface inside the immense stadium. The hectic stewards, wearing their bright yellow or vivid orange jackets, begin to carefully position some fluorescent cones onto the road, to guide cautious drivers where to park their luxurious cars before the big match commences. The lively traders begin setting up their crowded stalls and aroma-filled hot dog vans.

ot-dog, possibly a woolly scarf or a glistening, metal badge to fasten onto their clean t-shirt or jumper. When the time approaches 2:00pm the away supporters arrive, packed onto large, travelling coaches, rapid trains and bustling buses like sardines. As the followers step off their chosen method of transport, you begin to hear distinctive chants bellowing from supporters, which soon will be heard in the swarming terraces inside. The strong aroma of greasy, fried onions, burgers and hot dogs makes your stomach 'rumble' as the odour washes the atmosphere. The away supporter's chants are soon cleverly disguised by the much louder Manchester United fans. There seems to be a sense of excitement buzzing around the stadium, especially by the younger generation of people, who may never have been to a spectacle as good as this before.

begin to buy their official match-day programme, crammed full of detailed information about the quality teams playing. As you enter the stadium, you can hear people talking contently together. "Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, his tricks, his pace and his aerial ability are a great asset to Man United" is often heard being conversed between fellow fans in the tight terraces. You can clearly see the well-prepared player's warming-up slowly, to try and prevent themselves from picking up an excruciating injury whilst performing the game on the pitch.

The stadium announcer's voice christens the stadium as he speaks loudly and clearly to the sell-out crowd the team news and informs people about future ticket sales. 3:00pm arrives and the players are out on the freshly-cut field ready to kick-off the fixture. The majority of the maximum-limit crowd chant and sing about their favourite team, feeling confident that the team will prevail in the exciting prospect of the game ahead. You look around the vast stadium; you can clearly distinguish a blaze of red and white Manchester United shirts. As the game kicks off, there is an electrifying buzz in the remarkable atmosphere, as you hear songs about the players. As a goal goes in, the crowd cheer triumphantly, applauding the quality effort of the player who scored the goal.

With 10 minutes of the game to go, some brainy supporters begin to leave the stadium, as they don't want to be stuck in the crowds at the end of the tremendous game. They sprint swiftly towards their lavish cars and drive considerately away into the distance. About an hour after the game has been completed, most satisfied

people are away from the stadium but some unfortunate fans still remain on the congested road, stuck in heavy traffic obstruction which could be there for at least another hour or two.
