The recommendations for improving the future of healthcare include ensuring nurses engage in lifelong learning, preparing and enabling them to lead change, and building infrastructure for collecting and analyzing healthcare workforce data. While all recommendations are beneficial, recommendation number four - increasing the number of nurses with a baccalaureate degree to 80% by 2020 - is specifically analyzed in this text. There is an urgent need for hospitals to help nurses pursue higher education as it benefits both parties involved. For instance, many hospitals are seeking Magnet status, a recognition obtained when a hospital meets certain requirements, including having 80% of its nursing staff with a Bachelors prepared. Magnet status has many benefits such as improved nursing quality care, patient safety and satisfaction, better work environment, nursing recruitment and retention. ses with research and reporting skills that are instrumental in implementing quality healthcare measures in magnet hospitals.

It is difficult to argue against the potential benefits of improving nursing knowledge and performance for the betterment of patient health and well-being. Implementing planned change to achieve these goals can be challenging, as indicated by the numerous factors that impact success (Marquis, 2012). constraints and family responsibilities. Thus, when considering change, it is essential to take into account policies, processes, procedures, products and personnel (align="justify").In order to help nurses obtain their degree, hospitals should plan available resources that can aid in their success by removing any obstacles that may discourage them from going back to school. A program offered by the hospital that provides on-site child care during class and study groups would be incredibly helpful in alleviating the high cost of childcare. If the hospital provides the space for child care, other nurses can volunteer to provide these services. Furthermore, offering a mentor/tutor program can help struggling nurses achieve success. To encourage enrollment, hospitals can offer tuition up front, rather than waiting for repayment if the student does not pass. One incentive to pursue a Bachelor's degree is to offer a difference in pay for nurses with an Associates versus those with a Bachelor's prepared nurse. Lastly, there has been an increase in funding for education, so pushing for Bachelor's degree preparation from the beginning will help students remain in school and potentially qualify for grants.

Summary: MM's recommendations offer numerous advantages with only a few drawbacks related to finances and time constraints. Thus, I have returned to school as it is mandatory for managers to hold a Bachelor's degree.
