APJ Abdul Kalam is widely regarded as the most beloved President of India, with many Indians expressing a desire for his re-election in the latest voting, which he declined. He has earned the nickname "Public's President."

Abdul Kalam's unmatched proficiency and achievements in science and rocketry are highly esteemed. He is also remembered for his role as a motivator for India and champion of self-confidence. His colleague Arun Tiwari encouraged him to co-author the autobiography "Wings of Fire," which was inspired by Kalam's influence on Tiwari.

Kalam wanted to record the significant events from his life, an idea he approved of. This resulted in the development of "Wings of Fire". The book doesn't include every moment from Kalam's life but instead focuses on the ones that influenced the transformation of the Rameswaram village boy into the person credited with numerous

missile and rocket accomplishments.

Although there are myths linking Kalam sir to the presidency of India, this book does not mention anything about it. Instead, it focuses on Kalam's persistence in his field and how he became intrigued, ultimately earning the Padma Vibhushan for his contributions to Rocketry. My recommendation is not needed as the book speaks for itself.

Despite Mr. Kalam's great importance, his book only spans 180 pages, which is quite clever of him. Most people of his stature tend to include every detail about their lives and end up with an autobiography that can range from 500 to 1000 pages.

The book contains various scenarios related to social issues, including caste differences. The first chapter presents an interesting scenario on the topic. The second chapter also offers similar content pertaining to another social issue. However, the book'

most inspiring page is found on page 89, where Kalam sir recounts his work in the field of Rocketry. His vivid description of the process of imagining, building, launching and celebrating the success of a rocket creates a strong desire to be a part of his team and witness it all firsthand.

The selflessness of Kalam sir's family in sending him for higher education is a source of inspiration for us to become like him, especially since our own families share a similar spirit. Mr. Sarabhai is the ideal boss that we all hope for. The loss of loved ones during key moments in Mr. Kalam's life evokes deep sympathy in me for this remarkable man.

Throughout the second half of the book, a captivating narrative is unveiled, akin to great works of fiction. Upon discovering Kalam's tremendous passion and scientific experiments, my previous disdain for the subject dissipated. The monumental success of SLV-3 is masterfully depicted, as is Mr. Kalam's emotional reception of special recognition for a mission where all team members were equally responsible.

The book presents every character as Mr. Kalam, except for the protagonist, who is identified as THE KALAM. Despite his authorship, THE KALAM maintains a humble tone throughout the text. This makes the book an essential read for Science students. The launch of Agni is described in an engaging and cinematic manner, leading up to an exciting climax. Additionally, mentions of media comments confirm that the media was untrustworthy even during the period discussed in the book.

The final sentence of the book is both inspiring and significant, providing an epic conclusion. The acquisition of TURNING POINT - the sequel to

WINGS OF FIRE - has generated much enthusiasm for doubling this inspiration. Attempting to rate this book would be a joke; it's a must-read that shouldn't be passed up.

Consider buying Wings of Fire: An Autobiography on Flipkart.com, which chronicles Abdul Kalam's journey from a rural child to India's first citizen. The book is filled with stories from his life, including heartwarming moments like sharing lunch with his Hindu school teacher and seeing the transformation in behavior of the teacher's traditional wife towards him. Additionally, there is an emotional account of when the defense minister arranged for a helicopter ride so that scientist Kalam could attend his niece's wedding in a Tamil Nadu village.

The book inspires individuals to aim for excellence in their respective areas of expertise to earn acknowledgment. It reveals Abdul Kalam's leadership talents and his proficiency in collaborating with teams. The language is clear, and complex terminology is clarified for easy understanding. Besides being an autobiography, the book documents India's space program's advancement.

The book includes a charming description of people who were important in the author's life, combining religion and education. Nonetheless, there is an unpleasant part of the story. While attending primary school, he sat beside the son of a Pandit and anticipated their teacher's arrival. Upon arriving, the teacher ordered the protagonist to move to the back row simply because he was Muslim and sitting next to a Pandit's son. The boy had done nothing wrong other than sit near someone from a different religious background.

Despite significant progress in India, discrimination continues to persist. Even now, children may face discrimination based on their religion. I recommend every Indian read this book,

which not only teaches how to approach difficult situations with positivity, but also tells the story of a Muslim boy with ambitious dreams of becoming a respected scientist. The straightforward narration conveys how a boy from a humble background in a remote corner of India aspired to study aeronautics, rocket science, and missiles.

The book 'Wings of Fire' discusses various topics, including the author's family and the harmonious relationship between Hindus and Muslims. The book has taught me valuable lessons and motivated me to strive towards being someone whom the world aspires to be. I highly recommend every literate Indian to read 'Wings of Fire'.
