This person will also be angered by the fact that too much money is wasted on these verdicts when the poor are suffering in the society without basic necessities. This poor person will argue that the state should uses death penalty as a way to reduce the number of population living in poverty; he will most likely feel like the world is against people living in poverty. The fact that too much money is wasted on death penalty cases may make the poor person feel like the government does not care about helping the poor. This person would argue that the government should instead of wasting so much money on capital sentences, create other programs to help the poor in the society.

A politician is someone whose interest is in what is good for the state and its citizen. As the power holder for the people, his interest is ensuring that they have a way of controlling people and it includes coming up with laws that can enforce this. The politician is most likely going to disagree with views arguing that the state should have power over the people (Williams, Pg 96). The issue of so many resources are being used in execution of death penalties will not be an issue for a politician because in most cases, they belong to the upper hierarchy of the both social status and the

influential figures in the society.

Politician are in the position to be able skip taxes payment in most of their established businesses and so they have no problem with the huge millions monetary resource being annually to take away human lives in a cover up termed as punishment, to be able to eliminate selected type of individuals amidst the community. Judging from these arguments, the article is right in indicating that death penalty is a waste of resources that could be used for other useful programs. The rich who are the law makers are not affected by the issue of death penalty because they can afford to hire good attorneys to defend them and the cost used to execute this sentences is also not a problem to them because they have more than enough. On the other hand, the poor and people in the middle class social classes feel that

too much money is wasted on these sentences when life sentences could serve the same purpose for less cost. Death penalty is unfair and it is only applied to the people who are poor, it is also harmful and it averts resources from sincere crime regulatory measures that could be cheaper.
