This case study is basically a highlight of the procedure of merging two fully accredited hospitals which are both complemented by the state and located at the community level. For the merge to be successful, there should be timely resolution of numerous issues that should be implemented by executive staff for the purpose of getting to a mutual, efficient and effective solutions. The merger is between Porter Regional Medical Center which is a non-profit and a privately owned hospital and Banner Regional Medical Center which is a country owned hospital. the new set of culture and values. The team responsible for the same may develop and define biased values andnorms that favor one culture. Since both organizations had their own mission and vision statement, it could be difficult to determine and define the mission statements of the future because of lack of clear communication among the staff.

External Audit

An exceptional opportunity that the merge is set to receive will be manifested in the human resource management and operations in which this same department is the one responsible for the success of an organization. The merger brings together two different hospital boards, different sets of physicians and ultimately the different packages that come with high level staffing. Since there are numerous benefits that come with staff selection and retention, the merge is set to be fruitful because both hospitals had developed a culture of offering its employees with certain staffing benefits that ultimately increase performance. This enabled the consolidated company to recruit high level and specialized nurse among other hospital stuffs who in turn provide the company with some form of excellence in its operations. However, high qualified staff may pose a challenge in the way duplication of services in the new company is done. This then becomes a major threat to the operations of the company if not fully addressed. For this to be solved, the management needs to first deal with the physical structures responsible for certain service provision dealing with each department of physicians and administration in the sharing of power and resources in both companies.

A major purpose of the work area is to provide a sense of existence for any organization. An organization

with a clearly defined and a strategy work area ensures that regulations, rules and duties for its employees are clearly laid out, which acts as an anchor for the success of its key mandate. A work area allows for centralization of duties, which ensures that planning, control and supervision of duties are efficiently executed. This is because everything is under place, and thus there is minimal or no time wasted.

For staff members to be efficient and effective there are some needs which should be met, for instance, motivation. In order to motivate staff members and ultimately ensure that the company is successful, there should be application of motivation theory in the company’s operations in relation to staff members. Motivation in the sense of presenting company staff with certain work benefits that will cause them to perform and meet company goals thus leading to the success of the same. As well, effective communication with the top level management should be exercised, with good channels of conflict resolution. Since human capital is a key factor in the success of any organizations, their needs should, therefore, be met in order to avoid issues like strikes and go slows, which drag productivity behind.
