The term ethics can be used to refer to the fundamental principles and basic concepts that govern the nature of the humans and their conduct. For any business to run properly, there must be laid down ethics that guide the employees in their day to day activities of the firm. The ethics in the business are very relevant to the entire organizations and all the people in the business. The ethics applied in any industry gives the business philosophy. The philosophy of the business is to determine the fundamental goal and objective of the business industry.
The ethics in the business prevents the business people from engaging in unlawful and illegal activities. Concerning the gun industry, choices made before the manufacture of the guns have been neglected very much by the industries. The industries engag
...e in manufacturing the firearms illegally. Therefore the ethics in such industry are aimed at bringing to an end rogue industries. The ethics in such industries play a great role in structuring the required legal standards that will help run the industry in proper manner. Therefore, this paper is going to discuss the ethics that are applied in the industry of firearm manufacturing.
Ethics are all about what is bad and good in terms of morality. When the current industry of manufacturing and selling the guns is analyzed, it is clear that many of the business people are just out to make money (Lytton, 2007). They do not care of anything else, about the dangers of their reckless acts. Many of the firearms are therefore ending up in the wrong hands and are used in the wrong way thus leading to increase i
criminal activities. This is the main reason to why the ethics in the industry of guns should be explored (Lytton, 2007).
The American society is facing the most urgent social problem. This problem is concerned with the flow of firearms into the possession of young people and criminals. The legal activities carried out by the industries that manufacture the guns normally result from the weapons and firearm availability. This has led to the need and the concern for the ethics in the business (Bhowmik, 2002).The ethical issues in the industry of firearm are not that complex in nature. They are stated clearly and each industry should abide by them when doing the business in guns and other forms of firearm. With the ethics available, few people in the United States of America are in support of the free movement of the guns, more so the handguns into the hands of the criminals and under age buyers. This is in line with gun control measures (Bhowmik, 2002).
Furthermore, in more detail, the issue of using the guns for violence leads to several aspects that are very important for the ethics in business. It indicates how the business people driven by the need for profits move away from the ethics of the business and violate the set standards that are required to be followed in carrying out the business (Rostron, 2006). It also shows how the government’s ineffective regulations can have the controlling power and defending commercial interests. Lastly, the problem also indicates that sensitivities of the ethics in the business can make a big and crucial difference. The best results can only be seen or achieved when the
ethics are focused through the informed expressions ethically under the civil law (Diaz, 2013). Therefore, the ethics in the gun industry can benefit by associating closely with the commercial law and the business itself. The gun industries must observe the business ethics in order to avoid the firearms landing into unauthorized hands and the hands of the underage (Diaz, 2013).
However, some of the businesses dealing with guns are not observing the ethics in the industry. The gun industry is argued to have failed to put up any control measures on the gun dealers and distributors. Lack of controls has led to criminals owning the guns (Toner, 2015). Most of the wholesalers are not registered in the new policy governing the guns. This implies that the small businesses men and dealers could afford to purchase the guns from the wholesale without even signing the code of ethics. Therefore, small dealers and the wholesalers would have violated the code of conduct and standards put in place to regulate the movement of guns (Toner, 2015).
Therefore, the general and main point driven in the argument is that the business ethics are every important in any industry. However, the gun industry must adhere to the ethics in order to prevent the guns from landing into the unlawful hands that is the hands of the criminals and the underage people. Despite the set standards, most of the businesses are driven by the pressure of earning more profits and therefore they violate the ethical standards. They end up doing transactions and selling the guns to criminals, increasing the cases of murder and robbery. Finally, ethics in gun industry are of much significance
because they control the way people with guns, more so the manufacturers conduct themselves. Any misconduct can lead to grave danger of the citizens.
