Engaging in sexual activity with someone other than one's spouse outside of marriage can significantly impact the marital relationship, including any such activity involving a married person and a non-spouse.

Although infidelity can have varying effects on relationships, such as increased dishonesty, trust issues and time apart, it may also have positive impacts. The reason why some individuals engage in extramarital sex is because they are not satisfied with their sexual experiences within their marriage and seek fulfillment elsewhere without being honest with their partner. Nevertheless, there are couples who opt for a swinger lifestyle.

However, it is essential to stress that obtaining consent must always be the main priority when making sexual decisions, such as engaging in sex before marriage. Ultimately, individuals should be able to make their own decisions regarding whom they marry.
