Joahn Humberto was a sailor who after the death of his father, had no choice but continuing his father's business- becoming a wine merchant. In November 7th 1872 he departed from the bay of Cadiz (Spain) to make his trip to Greece where a rich man would buy his wine.

It was a misty morning. Humberto's boat was small, but had never betrayed him. It was the only thing he had, so he really loved it. He got on the boat already with the 50 gallons wine in it and sailed away in the misty ocean. The bout was small and there was a place only for the captain so he was completely alone. He sat on the front looking towards the horizon. He stared at the mist; that fog reminded him of something.

n story. A legend which his father used to tell. A legend for the misty morning when the famous ship Mary Celeste disappeared without any sign and the crew and its carriage weren't there any more. "It was a gorgeous boat" Joahn has remembered his late dad saying. "It was called "Mary" after the captain's wife- Maria. Captain Briggs must have really loved his wife. People say he has even put a wood sculpture of her at the front (mast) of the ship."

Then Joahn remembered Sophia. She was his true love he left in Spain. He loved her more than everything and hoped his journey would end soon so he could go back to her.

The fog started to lift up and Humberto saw the beautiful shores on both sides of his boat. Ha had reached Gibraltar-

the only entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. It was the most beautiful place on earth. The boat was moving between two completely different continents. So different that he couldn't understand how did they get so close to each other. At his left side he saw the European shore and some people on the waterfronts.

Then he remembered the rest of his father's story. "Mary Celeste disappeared" he said once "and no one ever saw her again. The crew and captain's family were never seen again. The last people to see the ship were the ones who were standing on the waterfronts of Gibraltar."

"I wonder where Mary Celeste is now"-Joahn said his thoughts out loud.

He passed the Gibraltar and as the day passed the night came with more clouds. Joahn couldn't fall asleep. Something kept him up during the night so he went outside again it was really dark. Suddenly a cloud moved from the moon's way and it appeared with and glowing light. All of a sudden a beautiful ship with broken sales appeared at the horizon. The ship looked really sad- like a widow crying over the deep waters in which she had lost her husband.

He had never seen anything more horrifying.

The big boat was stuck in the ocean and didn't move although the win was going trough its broken sales. It seemed the boat had like this for many years. Its body was made of hazel brown wood and near the front as Humberto went closer; it was possible to read the words "Mary Celeste", written in corrosive bronze letters.

The sailor couldn't believe his eyes. It was the legendary Mary Celeste! The ship which

disappeared so many years ago and no one was ever able to find it again was in front of him, staying still as if something in the deep waters pulling her; like something or someone didn't want it to sail away.

Humberto was completely appalled of his discovery, but was also really excited to find that which many explorers tried to look for but never found! He remembered his father's stories and how the captain, his wife, his daughter and a crew of 7 vanished without a trace and how the ship was carrying big treasures which were the aim of many people who lost their lives trying to find them.

He thought for a minute and decided: I'll go on this ship and find out what's the big mystery about it."

He sailed his boat as close as he could and climbed a small rope stairs up to the ship. It was dead silent. The cloud which had moved and had given way to the moonlight was gone, but now another was covering moon's lighting face. Suddenly Joah felt not as sure about this as he was before. Sophia's face appeared in his mind. She was smiling at him and reaching her hands towards him. He opened his eyes; the darkness of the ship froze his heart. He stared walking along and saw the cabins in front of him.

And then it happened.

He heard a voice of a little girl saying: "Daddy? Is that you daddy?" Humberto froze and tried not to move. Then another voice more deep ant tired voice answered: "Yes darling, it's me. Try to sleep honey. It's no good staying up at night."

Joahn was

confused. Where did these voices come from? What was happening here? Nobody was there; he couldn't see anybody.

He went forward near the cabins. A door shut and he heard steps; steps the sound of which he realized that someone was coming towards him. And then all of a sudden he felt deep coldness in his soul. The steps were going trough him. He collapsed. For a minute or two he was laying on the floor without any sign that he was alive. Then suddenly he took a deep breath and woke up. At first he was laying on the wooden floor watching the sky: it was still as dark as ink; then he remembered he needed to get off the ship, he needed to run away.

Joahn Humberto started to run toward the stairs where his safe boat was waiting for him; but then he realized he couldn't sail away. His boat was gone. In a moment of desperation he tried to jump in the water but something was pulling him back. He remembered Sophia and how he'll never see her smile again. And then he realized he'll never get off the ship. He was going to die here. The legend of the famous Mary Celeste has become his destiny.
