Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals. Shooting For the Stars Some people believe that dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Everyone should have goals when striving to achieve a specific task. Goal setting is used by top level athletes, successful business man, and achievers in all fields.

This proves that you can set your goals high and still have them happen if you give it your all from the start. When Marsden Dyson was just old enough to walk and swing a golf club he was out on the course with his father playing and watching golf.

He would always watch the Masters and say he wanted a Green Jacket after the final round on Sunday after winning the Masters. Marsden would get distracted with other sports when he grew up into middle school and high school. Dyson played soccer at the top level in travel and ODP. His goal was to play division 1 soccer at Clemson and University of Virginia. That goal was almost completed until he suffered

four serious concussions in less than three years. He would run miles every day to stay in shape, do ball touches, and finishing drills so he could reach that goal.

His fourth concession he received finally made him realize that he set a goal when he was five years old. Marsden in his sophomore year had a golf coach that said,”You are a golfer and are darn good at it and do not forget it. ” Dyson never thought about it until his junior year of high school when that golf coach was replaced by Coach Howard. Marsden had gone to Districts that year and shot a 78 and advanced to Regional’s where he fell short of the State cut by one stroke.

Dyson had realized in that spring season of soccer when he suffered another devastating concussion it was time to hang up the cleats and pursue his goal for his Green Jacket at the Masters. Marsden sat down with his swing coach to set up his objectives for his golf career. He realized he had a lot of work to do to reach that goal of winning a Green Jacket. Marsden’s father Jeff, had bought him a membership at Mattaponi Springs, where he would spend countless hours on the range and around the greens.

Dyson had a routine he would do every day; he would hit eight perfect shots with each club in his bag. The young man then would move on to the chipping surface, he hit fifty perfect shots that had to land within three feet of the pin. Whenever he had nothing to do, he would be

on the range practicing, if he didn’t answer the phone and you needed him he was at the range working. He would put in dedication into his golf game twenty four seven. Dyson was finally recognized for his hard work when he got to play college golf at Hampden Sydney College.

Marsden was still striving for that Green Jacket. When he was not in class or not at golf practice he was at the course hitting balls and perfecting his swing. On his way to earning that Green Jacket he had three NCAA Division 3 Championships at HSC. Most people said his hard was getting him so far but his dedication to golf was the key to it all. After his graduation from HSC we was honored a spot of the Webb. com tour. The Webb. com tour was the tour underneath the PGA tour where Dyson dominated play with 22 victories in two years.

Dyson finally was invited to his first time on the PGA Tour at Augusta National home to the Masters. Marsden had been waiting years for this moment; he did make the cut for the final two days of the tournament. The young golf was inexperienced at majors but he held his own going into the final round trailing Rickie Fowler by one stroke. His hard work and dedication came into play on that April Sunday where he blew out the field and shot a 63 to win the Masters by six shots. Marsden Dyson finally earned his first Green Jacket at the Masters at the age of 24.

ones goal anything can be accomplished. Marsden is a true story of that, not a lot of golfers gets to say they won the prestige Green Jacket at Augusta National. Dyson just put a lot of dedication and hard work in where it mattered the most for his goal. The outstanding golfer once said,” When you find that goal dedication, hard work, and persistence comes easy to you because you love what you are doing even if it gets rough all that path. ” When it comes to Shooting For the Stars set any goal you want just put out the work that is needed to succeed.
