This was our second time during our degree tenure that we were going for an Industrial Visit (IV). Everyone in the class was very excited about this trip. On the 13th of December, we left for the journey from CST Station. Everyone were enjoying themselves during the journey. We reached Bangalore Cantonment Station on the next day, on 14th of December, at about 9am from there we took a bus for Mysore taking us all the way to our accommodation at Comfort Inn Vyshak Hotel. The hotel was very deluxe and comfortable. All the students were happy to have such a room after a long tiring journey.

Later on that day we went to St. Philomena’s Church which had breathtaking architecture and a very peaceful environment. After that we headed to

the Brindavan Gardens which were highly popular for their landscaping and musical fountains. It was very nice to see fountains dance on the beats for the music. On the Third day of our trip we visited the lovely temple of Chamundeshwari which was again a very beautiful temple situated at quite a height and following to that we went to see the Nandi Bull carved out of a single rock.

Heavy detailing on that rock to make it look like Nandi was totally awesome. Later on that day we visited the Mysore Palace which was outrageously big and luxurious. It showed us what kind of life does a king live. It had various artifacts taken from various countries which dated long back. The paintings were bliss on the palace walls. Next stop was to the summer palace of Tipu Sulta

where his various artifacts and memorabilia were kept. The exhibition was quite informative. Then we headed for the palace of Tipu Sultan which was sadly destroyed by the British people.

We managed to take a look at where Tipu Sultan was found dead and the Water gate through which no person could ever come to his palace. Our next destination was to a 1200 years old temple, where the statues of the gods and goddesses were beautifully carved. It was a very big day for us and we also spent it visiting very interesting places in Mysore, so we decided to have a DJ Night that night before our dinner which was fun again. Day four was the day when we left for our another destination, Bangalore, the IT hub of the country.

That was a place for special interest as for our IT students. First we checked in to our hotel at Bangalore, which was even better than that of Mysore. The CRN Canary Sapphire Hotel was quite lavish and comfortable. Then we headed for the Microsoft Company in Bangalore. All the IT students were very excited to visit this company as it is one of the giants in IT industry. Everyone was dressed in formals to visit it. The hosts at Microsoft were very informative; they give us a sneak-peak at the new operating system they are going to launch.

They also told us how to get into Microsoft, how to crack the interviews and how to be confident. They gave us various tips on how to survive in crowd and how to be confident enough to be in an

interview. It was a very interactive session, In which they asked us various questions and gave away various Microsoft caps as goodies to various students of our college. They treated us very well and also gave us snacks to feel comfortable. That branch of Microsoft dealt only in service to various companies so they told us how the service is done and how jobs are outsourced.

In all, it was an awesome experience to visit Microsoft. On the last day, we were supposed to visit Infosys at Electronics City In Bangalore. This was again a big giant of the IT industry. We were told that it is going to be a daylong session at Infosys which would be very interactive and informative in nature. Firstly we fell in love with the huge campus, which had various amazingly shaped buildings. It was huge, it had almost 70 buildings. They had kept cycles to more around in the campus. On the same day two other colleges were visiting the Infosys campus.

So all the colleges were divided into groups and sent to two seminar halls, so that we have a chance to meet new people and socialize. They also had an idea of making our communication skills better. The seminar started off with introduction of random individuals from the students. Then we were again divided into 10 teams as they had various activities planned for us. We got mixed with the students from other colleges and had to perform various tasks together. We were supposed to get points for our team to help it win. Then the interactive session began and we were supposed to

ask questions.

With this we got an idea of how Infosys works, what are the services provided by them, what are their products etc. we kind of got blend in to the session. They showed us various videos about Infosys like how it was formed and how it progressed. The session progressed with various tasks that would help to improve our communication skills, how to stand out from the crowd and how to be confident. We had a task to make a house out of cardboard in 1 hour which would decide our time management, communication and managerial skills. Everyone got engrossed into this task very much and learnt a lot from it.

Hence the concluded the session by giving away some goodies to the best cardboard houses and wished us luck for future. Finally we left the campus to return back to Mumbai. Most of us didn’t want to leave as we were so attached to Bangalore. But we managed to get a lot of experience about how the industry works and how to survive in it. Everybody loved going on such a nice trip with a desire to go for the next one. We thank our teachers that they managed us to make the most of this trip and get as much information from it as possible. We also thank our college to organize such a lovely IV for us.
