What does winter and summer have in common? They are both seasons, and they both happen when the earth is tilted toward the sun. Even though winter and summer are both seasons, they are also different. During the winter season the weather is extremely cold, gray, and dreary. The winter season has short days. The temperature outside tends to drop drastically. Often times the temperature may drop below a certain degree which may cause pipes to freeze. The trees loose there leaves. When the wind blows the trees are bare. Everyone dresses nice and warm.

dart around the hot outdoors with the remains of popsicles that they have eaten stuck to their faces.

Christmas is a holiday that is celebrated in the winter. This is a time that families get together and share their memories. Many families cook a big dinner to fill up their bellies with hot delicious food. Families also gather around the Christmas tree to watch one another open presents and sing Christmas carols. Whereas in the summer families join one another to celebrate the Fourth of July. The Fourth of July is in the summer. This is when families are at a park watching the children run and play. Families gather around a picnic table and enjoy grilled food instead of hot foods.

The fourth of July is also enjoyed because of the fireworks you get to watch at night to light up the sky. When comparing the two season’s one thing that many people develop are colds. In the winter season people are more prone to getting sick. People are constantly sniffing and have running nose. Along with that comes coughing. In the summer season people still catch colds but they are not as bad as it is in the winter. The summer colds are due to allergies flaring up. In the summer the weather tends to be more dry and hot. In the winter the weather tends to be moist and cold.

In my opinion people would rather enjoy the summer season versus the winter season. In the summer you have a lot to do. There are many activities that families can plan with their children. In the winter season there

is not much you can do. Also it is too cold outside to have fun and enjoy one another. During the winter season the children are inside more playing board games and watching television. I also think that people tend to gain more weight in the winter because of lack of physical motivation. In the summer a person has high motivation to want to move around and be fit.
