Advocates of the death penalty recognize that no system is perfect and that utilizing the death penalty involves a small risk of erroneously executing an innocent person. Is society ready to accept this outcome?
I endorse life imprisonment, where the offender can contemplate their actions during a severe sentence. Wrongful execution denotes the unfair act of subjecting an innocent individual to capital punishment, commonly referred to as the "death penalty." Opponents of capital punishment present cases of wrongful execution as evidence against its application.
Many people have been declared innocent victims of the death penalty. In the United States since 1992, over 15 inmates on death row have been exonerated and released because of newly-discovered DNA evidence. It is crucial to acknowledge that DNA evidence is only relevant in specific capital cases. Some individuals have been
...set free due to lack of sufficient evidence against them, often involving misconduct by prosecutors. Consequently, this has led to retrials with outcomes such as acquittals, dropped charges, or pardons based on their innocence.
The Death Penalty Information Center (U.S.) has published a list of 10 inmates who were executed but may have been innocent. There is evidence or significant doubts about guilt in at least 39 executions in the U.S. It is likely that there are more wrongful convictions, as investigations are usually not conducted after an execution, making it unlikely for any miscarriage of justice to be discovered.
Thus, in my perspective, society is not willing to accept the consequences of executing an innocent individual solely to apprehend a guilty one. Consequently, I advocate for the worldwide abolition of capital punishment since only God, as the creator of life, possesses the
power to negate another person's being.

1st Response:
In a civilized society, the government should not carry out vengeance disguised as justice. By doing so, it becomes complicit with murderers and devalues human life and dignity. It is important to reject the notion of inflicting the same harm upon criminals that they have inflicted upon their victims. For example, rape should not be punished with rape, or arson with the burning down of the perpetrator's house. Instead of capital punishment, murderers should be sentenced to lifelong imprisonment where they can reflect on their wrongdoing.
Both references discuss whether the death penalty should be allowed in the United States. The first response argues that it violates the Eighth Amendment and goes against American moral values, making it unacceptable. The second response reflects on whether economic development can coexist with environmental concerns, suggesting that if the U.S. has resources to explore space, it should also invest in environmentally safe oil production. It advocates for "green" policies and creating bicycle-friendly trails outside suburban areas to reduce gasoline usage and emissions. This shift towards biking is mainly influenced by the economy rather than environmental consciousness. Additionally, families are choosing to live together again due to economic reasons, which has positive environmental implications.
Solar power is an efficient energy source that helps reduce costs. The popularity of solar and turbine power is growing, along with the planting of more trees and flowers to benefit the environment and increase oxygen levels. According to the Centers for Disease Control, around 24.6 million individuals in the United States (approximately one in 12 people) are affected by
asthma, with a rise of 4.3 million since 2001. We have already begun substituting wood with bamboo and should continue our efforts to protect the environment. Nevertheless, there is always hope that we will collectively recognize the need for action before causing further harm.
