In our children's daily lives, radio, television (TV), movies,
video games,
cell phones,
and computer networks have become major influences.

A literature review was conducted to understand the impact of media on child health in Western countries and India. Research has demonstrated that media can significantly affect children's cognitive, social, and behavioral development, both positively and negatively. Various aspects of child health such as violence, obesity, tobacco and alcohol use, and involvement in risky sexual behaviors are widely recognized to be influenced by media.

fy">The media plays a substantial role in different aspects of our lives, including child health, within our society. While it has the potential to bring about positive and negative effects, it is vital to emphasize harnessing its positive aspects while mitigating the negative ones. To accomplish this objective, we need to prioritize comprehending and counteracting the detrimental impact that media has on children, particularly in India.

The detrimental impact of electronic mass media on children's well-being is unfortunately widespread. It now affects not only kids in unfavorable environments or with negative peers but also those at home who are exposed to harmful content. In the United States (US), more than 80% of teenagers have some form of new media technology like cell phones, personal data assistants, or computers for Internet access. They increasingly use these devices for activities such as texting, instant messaging, emailing, blogging, and accessing social networking websites.
